These images are from a series I call “Photoluminescence”. The series presented many challenges, but was a fun adventure exploring the possibilities. Using fluorescent acrylic paint on the background, the set was illuminated with eight four foot “black light” fluorescent bulbs. Art model Amelia Simone was not covered in blue paint as it might appear. This was simply the effect of the black lights on her skin. Due to the relatively low light levels, the camera’s ISO reading was set to 6400 in order to expose at 1/100sec at f-2.8.
